Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. His second name, Ronaldo, was chosen after US president Ronald Reagen. He has one older brother Hugo, and two olders sisters, Elma and Liliana Catia.
At eight of his age, he played for team CF Andorinha. In 1995, Ronaldo signed with local club CD Nacional, and after a title-winning campaign, he went on a three day trial with Sporting Lisbon, who subsequently signed him for an undisclosed sum.
He was first spotted by then-Liverpool F.C manager Gerrard Houllier at 16, but Liverpool refuse to take him on, because they think that Ronaldo still too young for playing on Premier League and needed some time to develop his skiils first. However, he came to the attention of Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer of 2003, when Sporting Lisbon defeated United 3-1. Ronaldo’s performance is very awesome than make Sir Alex Ferguson want to joined him with his club, Manchester United.
Ronaldo became Manchester United’s first-ever Portuguese player when he signed for 12,24 million after the 2002-2003 season. First he requested the number 28 (his number at Sporting), but Sir Alex Ferguson said that Ronaldo must be use number 7, the legend number in Manchester United. Before him, the player who use that number is Bryan Robson, EWric Cantona, and David Beckham. They are a famous football player in their era.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a great football player for me. Nothing is Impossible for him. He can make his team win at the last time of match. He has a good skill when he use his foot to free kick. He also can make his friend have more spirit, and make his opponent scared with him.
At 2008 Ronaldo make Manchester United won 2 awards, first, Premier League Championship and Championship League. Because of his contribution for his team, he get awards as the best player on Europe, defeated his rival, Leonel Messi (Barcelona) and Frank Lampard (Chelsea). After that, his name also on nominate as the best player in the world 2008 with his rival Lionel Messi (Barcelona). I hope Ronaldo can get the awards from his rival. That’s why I like him
